My mistake, having seen the ad again, they are just saying that it will
be available for download via their iView process.

Sorry for getting peoples hopes up.

It will be broadcast that Sunday, April 18, at 7:30, on ABC1.

You just had to watch the advertisement. It becomes available on iView
at Midnight, Friday, April 16, and then be broadcast, as above, two days
later.

Cheers,

All the later times I seen the ad, it's just mentioned iView.

Hope you're right though.

Beautie...you're right, Gary, I've just seen the ad again and it does
state (in white on light white, so similar hopeless combination) that Dr
Who will be on Sunday 18th April.

Now just hope it is some sort of series rather than a "one of"!!

I really quite like the first episode "Eleven Hour". I found the Steven
Moffat's story interesting because the Doctor has to think about to solve
the problem. Not having the Tardis (and the sonic screwdriver) available is
a great plot device. One thing I hate about the new series is the sonic
screwdriver and the doctor have become a magican's trick and a magican!

What do you think?

I like the new series, but my wife doesn't, tho she has watched previous Dr
Who.
I find the Dr Who Confidentials interesting also.
There is a lot of discussion in the US ngs, and I suggest you visit there.

The new Doctors face looks so.........weird!!

And at the start of Ep Two, the Doctors do one of his Magicians tricks
(don't know if he used the sonic screwdriver though!!). And the
offsiders, after she's been for a float in space, asks "How did you do
that?". I reckon I'd want to know how before I stepped outside!!

For once I am not looking forward to the 3rd episode with Winston Churchill
& the Daleks.
Will probably watch the Logies instead & watch a recording of it some time.

What do you think?
Friends of mine are whinging that its 'too much of a kids show!'
...and from that I've decided they mean it's too centred-around-
the-story than giving them a character to squeeeee over.

I'm feeling the second episode is probably the 'best use of Good Old
Science Fiction' in the new Who (like a proper 'Spaceship episode' from
the Old series), and the third was a much better way to write the Daleks
back in than anything the RTD era produced. In short, Dr Who is
returning back to its original form. Yay.

What I like about "The Beast beneath" is that it shows that the doctor
only manage to solve things because of the circumstance. It was Amy who
figure out the link to the children. With the RTD era, the doctor just
solves everything with his magic. There is absolutely no thinking involve.

Back to the original I say!

Thank you for responding.

To be honest I wasn't impressed with that either it was a bit of feeling
over science moment, as you say little thought reason involved. For me
a watershed moment was the one where the master shrinkages the doctor
and how is he saved? The Power of Prayer!

The Doctor and his girlfriend travelling up and down the human timeline
is done.. how often did the old doc have just one companion? and apart
from pertwee they did get away from humans more than once a series!

Forgot to add this I hope that detective show cliche thing with
the quick memory flashback before the ahuh (I know it was used
in midsomer murders at some point before they realise how crap it
was) moment isn't going to be in every episode.
