The Ion engines in Sci-fi movies and shows are definitely fictional though.
Everything in sci-fi movies and shows are fictional. The "fi" is
short for fictional.

Yes. It's fiction. The people, situations, etc aren't real.

Neighbours is fictional as well.

Yes. It's fiction. The people, situations, etc aren't real.
Sometimes they allude to real events and people.

Lots of those in the "Back to the Future" movies: The Texaco gag, the
Jaws movie gag, etc.
